Meet Aaliyah Guzman

Political Communication Specialist | Public Service Advocate

Aaliyah Guzman is a senior at the George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication with a minor in Sociology.

Aaliyah has leveraged her solid academic performance to secure several prestigious internships. Her journey began on Capitol Hill, where she served as a Legislative Intern in the office of Representative Sean Casten, gaining valuable experience in legislative affairs. Following that, she worked with Amtrak's Public Relations team as a PR intern, where she honed her skills in media monitoring, press release writing, and event planning. Most recently, Aaliyah interned with the Feminist Majority Foundation, contributing to op-ed writing, media monitoring, and social media content creation.

Beyond her internships, Aaliyah is actively involved in the GW community. She serves as a senior member of the Student Theater Council's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, an opinions writer for the GW Hatchet, and an SMPA ambassador. She has also held leadership roles as the Editor-in-Chief of Priestly Magazine and the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Student Theater Council.
